EHRZ<\/b> is Yamawa\u2019s innovative roll tap that sets new application standards for threading medium-hardness steels. It is the ideal solution for operations requiring high-precision threads and superior surface finishes, while eliminating the challenges associated with chip production.<\/span><\/p>\n

Part of the <\/span>Z-PRO<\/b> high-performance series, the <\/span>EHRZ<\/b> is a highly advanced tap engineered for thread forming in <\/span>steels with hardness up to 40 HRC<\/b> and <\/span>stainless steel<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yamawa has developed a unique <\/span>lobe profile<\/b> for the EHRZ tap which, combined with a <\/span>specialized coating<\/b>, maximizes the benefits of the surface treatment. This design significantly <\/span>reduces tapping torque<\/b>, ensuring extended tool life and consistently precise threads.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>flutes<\/b> are slightly <\/span>wider<\/b> than those of conventional roll taps, allowing for increased lubricant flow. This results in <\/span>enhanced lubrication<\/b> and more efficient <\/span>cooling<\/b>, significantly improving overall wear resistance. Thanks to the optimized HSS-Co substrate and the proprietary Yamawa coating, EHRZ taps deliver exceptional performance when forming threads in medium-hardness steels and stainless steels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Workshop tests clearly demonstrate the efficiency of this new product. For example, when threading hardened <\/span>42CrMo4 (40 HRC)<\/b>, the torque measured for the EHRZ was considerably lower than that of a conventional roll tap under the same conditions. Furthermore, while the conventional product showed signs of wear after 900 holes, Yamawa\u2019s innovative tap continued to perform effectively after 1,600 holes.<\/span><\/p>\n
